Still trying to figure out what to get for your child’s teacher this holiday season? It doesn’t matter if your kid is doing remote learning or is back at school in person, those teachers deserve a present this year more than any other. But what do you get to show your appreciation for everything they’re doing to help your kid learn in the middle of a pandemic? Here are some options most teachers would love to unwrap.
- Gift cards- You can never go wrong with a gift card, especially to safe bets like Amazon, Target, Starbucks or Dunkin’. If you have a local business you can support by buying gift cards, that’s a good choice, too. And if you can email it to the teacher? Even better.
- Wish lists- If you’d prefer getting them a physical gift, ask if they have any online wish lists, like on Amazon for classroom supplies or on Scholastic for books.
- A heartfelt letter from your child- Teachers are dealing with so much this school year, so a sweet note from their student thanking them for the job would be a perfect gift. What those educators need more than another coffee mug or bottle of lotion is to hear about the positive impact they’re having in kids’ lives during this challenging time. And no matter what your budget is, everyone can afford that.
- Grace- Some teachers would appreciate nothing more than the gift of kids actually showing up and parents showing some compassion. Teachers are doing their best and they deserve our appreciation and understanding now more than ever.
