During quarantine, drink trends have been rocking social media, includinghot chocolate bombsthat showed up last fall. The latest craze? Hotteabombs. Instead of melting chocolate down, these bombs are made with isomalt, a clear sugar substitute that can be easily poured into spherical molds.
From there, teabags or loose tea can be placed in the center of the mold after the isomalt solidifies and is sealed by heating the edges of the bomb. Some creative DIYers are adding food coloring, crystals, glitter, flowers and more and are showing their creations off on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
At last check,#hotteabombhas more than 2.3-million posts while#teabombhas over 2.5-million. Despite these big numbers, they still have a way to go to catch up with last year’s hot chocolate and hot cocoa bombs which gathered more than 119.4-million views.
