Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid Donates $100,000 To Homeless Shelters

Over the weekend,Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers' played in his fourth NBA All-Star game. He’s one of the best basketball players on the planet -- and earned $100,000 because he was chosen for that All-Star game.

But instead of pocketing the money, Joel decided to give his winnings to homeless shelters in Philadelphia. His team stepped up and committed to donating an additional $100,000 to the same groups that Joel had chosen.

He explained that he “felt it was important to provide more support for individuals and families struggling with homelessness and food insecurity” and pledged to “continue to help in any way I can.”
