A New Jersey man is looking at several years in a federal prison for possessing dozens of chainsaws, and he's not a lumberjack.
48-year-old Jose Rodriguez, a longtime Amtrak employee, is accused of stealing at least 77 chainsaws from the railroad and then selling them to people across the country. According to the complaint, Rodriguez sold the stolen equipment to people all over the country and made more than $50,000. In addition the chainsaws, he also stole and later sold 103 chainsaw replacement bars and 163 replacement chains.
Rodriguez is charged with stealing government property and one count of stealing from an agency receiving federal funds. He's facing up to 10 years in prison for each charge.
