*LIST* The Most Popular Plastic Surgery Procedures Of 2020 Revealed


A lot of non-essential medical procedures were put on hold due to COVID last year, and that includes cosmetic procedures. But that doesn’t mean there weren’t some folks who went under the knife for vanity reasons.

  • The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has come out with their annual list of the most popular plastic surgery procedures, both surgical and minimally invasive. 
  • The report notes that the number of procedures did decline in 2020 due to COVID, with plastic surgeons not performing elective procedures for an average of 8-point-1 weeks, or 15% of the year.
  • A survey finds that 11% of women are more interested in procedures now than they were before the pandemic.
  • And that’s true for 24% of women who have already had a procedure.
  • 35% of women who have had at least one cosmetic procedure plan to spend more money on procedures this year.
  • As for the most popular cosmetic procedure, nose reshaping tops the list of surgical procedures, with 352,555 procedures done last year.
  • When it comes to minimally invasive procedures, Botulinum toxin type A, a.k.a. Botox, is tops, with 4.4 million procedures done last year.

  2. Soft tissue fillers (3.4 million procedures)
  3. Laser skin resurfacing (997,245 procedures)
  4. Chemical peel (931,473 procedures)
  5. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment (827,409 procedures)
