American Academy Of Pediatrics Recommend Masks For ALL Students This Fall

The American Academy of Pediatrics is calling for schools to enact universal mask mandates when students return to class. A statement released on Monday said, "AAP recommends universal masking because a significant portion of the student population is not yet eligible for vaccines, and masking is proven to reduce transmission of the virus and to protect those who are not vaccinated.” The statement continued, “Many schools will not have a system to monitor vaccine status of students, teachers, and staff, and some communities overall have low vaccination uptake where the virus may be circulating more prominently." The AAP also said it “strongly recommends in-person learning" because children face mental health issues and learning setbacks by not being in a classroom. The Pfizer COVID vaccine has been cleared for young people 12-years-old and up. Read more here https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/563674-leading-pediatric-group-recommends-masks-for-all-students-over-2-when
