You've Heard Of Rescue Dogs, Now A Cat To The Rescue

An 83-year-old woman in Cornwall, England, got herself into a bit of trouble -- but ended up getting rescued, thanks to her black pet cat named Piran.

The woman fell into a 70-foot canyon and was stuck. She couldn’t get back to the surface.

Piran the cat stayed right where the woman had tumbled and meowed relentlessly.

Eventually, the woman’s family and friends realized that she was missing and formed a search party. They walked around the area, trying to get a sense of where their friend might be.

Piran’s meowing gave the search crew just enough of a clue. They were able to point first responders in the right direction, allowing the first responders to lift the woman up on a stretcher and get her to the hospital in stable condition.

The police were thrilled that the woman wasn’t seriously hurt -- and pointed out in a Facebook post that, "Piran the cat saved the day."
