Starting Friday, U.S. Postal Service delivery times are changing for the worse, and prices are going up starting Sunday for the holiday season.
The changes to standard delivery times are part of the Postal Service’s 10-year strategic plan announced by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy in March.
Postal Service spokeswoman Kim Frum says the changes mean an increased time-in-transit for mail traveling long distances, but that “most first-class mail and periodicals will be unaffected.”
The price increase on all commercial and retail domestic packages starting Sunday is because of the holiday season; the increases will last until December 26.
