The latest social media diet trend has you adding a few drops of lemon juice to your morning brew. The idea is that the lemon will kick-start your metabolism and start melting off fat. But experts say it’s just a bunch of hooey.
The notion probably came from drinking lemon water, but the reason that works isn’t because the lemon has any special powers -- it just gets you to drink more water. And dietitians worry that forcing yourself to consume stuff you don’t like in an effort to stay thin is a sign of an eating disorder.
