Japanese Scientists Collected Dust Of Asteroid Flying Through The Air

Japanese scientists successfully collected some dust from an asteroid and delivered that dust back to earth.

Earlier this year, the Japanese spacecraft Hayabusa2 collected some dust from the surface of the asteroid Ryugu.

And then, that spacecraft made its way back home. Over the weekend, it dropped a test tube filled with asteroid dust to the ground in Australia.

Over the next year, six teams of scientists from around the globe will conduct studies on this dust, trying to figure out what it is and where it comes from.

And, hopefully, while they’re conducting these studies, nobody sneezes.
