Peloton Recalls All Treadmills After Child’s Death

Peloton has recalled all of their treadmills and is trying to handle damage control after the death of a child.

The popular company issued the recall yesterday and then apologized for pushing back against Consumer Product Safety Commission's request for the recall. Company CEOJohn Foley’s mea culpa stated "I want to be clear, Peloton made a mistake in our initial response to the CPSC's request. We should have engaged more productively with them from the outset. For that, I apologize."

The recall covers Tread + and the less expensive Tread. Both were pulled from the website. The CPSC raised concern over the machines after 39 complaints were filed of children being “entrapped, pinned, and pulled under” the equipment. Pets are also at risk.
