Earlier this month, Harper Mayfield of Macon, Georgia, had an unusual wish for her 10th birthday. She wanted supplies to build a lemonade stand.
Harper was definitely thinking ahead -- and thinking of others -- as her grand plan was to use the lemonade stand to raise money for a local charity.
Last weekend, she got her lemonade stand up and running -- and it was a huge success. In just one day, she raised $400 for Macon Outreach, an organization that provides food and clothing to those in need.
The decision to raise that money was an easy one for Harper. As her birthday approached, she realized that she couldn’t think of anything she wanted and she really likes helping people.
So, she used her creativity and energy to make a big impact on those less fortunate in her community.
