Crowds Show Up To Support A Texas Bakery Slammed For It's "Pride Cookies"

Confections is a small bakery owned by two sisters in Lufkin, Texas. Last week they posted on Facebook that they would have Pride cookies available, and were surprised by the backlash.

“Today has been hard. Really hard,” reads a Facebook post from Thursday. “… My heart is heavy. Honestly, I never thought a post that literally said‘more love, less hate’would result in this kind of backlash to a very small business that is struggling to stay afloat and spread a little cheer through baked goods.”

One customer cancelled a five dozen cookie order. Other people left hateful messages on their Facebook page. However when news of the incident spread, they were met with another surprise. Overwhelming support...

The next morning, the bakery had a line that extended around the block. “We’ve sold out. All this attention on our small business is very humbling… in the 11 years we’ve been open, we’ve never seen anything quite like this,” one of the owners posted.
