The New York Times listed coffee's numerous health benefits, which includes reducing the risk of:
- Parkinson's Disease
- Heart disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Liver cancer
- Prostate cancer
- Studies also show that drinking four or five eight-ounce cups of coffee a day could reduce death rates. A 30-year study found that participants who drank between three and five cups of joe per day with 15% less likely to die early than those who don't drink coffee.
There are still risks to drinking coffee, especially for pregnant women. Caffeine can cross into the fetus and give a higher risk of miscarriage, low birth weight, and premature birth.
