Simone Biles is making history.
She posted a score of 14.000 in the balance beam event, good enough for a bronze medal. It gives Biles her seventh Olympic medal, tying her with Shannon Miller. Fighting back tears, Biles went into the beam competition relaxed overall. She overcame some wobbles to finish strong.
Biles had withdrawn from her other individual finals due to mental health issues and to deal with what gymnasts call the "twisties." It's an issue where they essentially lose control of their bodies during aerial tricks.
