We've all seen what Citizen App can do when it comes to tracking crime, but now you can check out how it works when tracking you.
The company behind the app has launched a new service that's part GPS and part bodyguard. For $20 per month, you can use it as a way to call for help in situations where a customer is unable to call 911.
There are several modes, including Distress Detection, which will respond to a scream or a specific code word, and Shake For Agent, which works exactly as it sounds -- users can shake their phone twice and reach a Citizen agent.
Some privacy experts have raised concerns about Citizen's new efforts, which include private "emergency responders" sent out on patrol in towns like Los Angeles. (Mashable)
