Earlier this year, an ice storm caused big problems around Houston, Texas.
And at that time, furniture store owner Jim McIngvale -- known around town as “Mattress Mack” -- opened his stores to people, allowing hundreds of them to sleep on the beds, use the bathrooms and enjoy free food until the storm cleared.
Well, Mattress Mack is back in action. He’s sending dozens of trucks loaded with non-perishable food and supplies to those who’ve been impacted by Hurricane Ida.
He remembers the effects of Hurricane Harvey, which blew through Houston exactly four years ago, and knows there are plenty of needs to be filled because of Hurricane Ida.
Mack is even going the extra step to -- once again -- open the doors of his stores to the people of Louisiana, with a simple but powerful offer ...
“Sleep here for free. Free meals. We'd be more than happy to open our doors to people of Louisiana.”
