The CDC is signing off on the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson's coronavirus booster shots.
Just like the Pfizer booster, the Moderna shot is recommended six months after the initial course for anyone 65 years or older and for those as young as 18 who are at risk. The J&J booster is recommended for anyone 18 years and older, at least two months after their first dose.
Yesterday,Dr. Rochelle Walenskyalso backed the mix and match method for getting a third dose. She noted those who qualify for a booster can pick a booster of their choosing. In a statement, Walensky said the move shows the agency's dedication "to protect as many people as possible from COVID-19."
