The last thing you probably want to do when it’s freezing out is go for a hike or a run, but this might change your mind … you burn more calories exercising in the cold than you do in warmer temps.
The reason is all about the body trying to warm itself in extreme temperatures. That internal warming, or thermogenesis, burns a lot of calories.
