CostcoFrozen Berries Recalled Over Fear of Hepatitis A

A frozen fruit recall is underway due to possible Hepatitis A contamination. The recall involves an organic tropical fruit blend sold at Trader Joe's stores nationwide and organic strawberries sold under five different brand names including Costco's Kirkland Signature and Aldi's Simply Nature. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there have been five cases of Hep A, all in Washington state, with all five patients reportedly having eaten frozen organic strawberries. Two hospitalizations have been reported but no deaths. The Oregon-based supplier, Scenic Fruit Company, says the recall was issued "out of an abundance of caution." Customers are being urged to throw away the products or return them for a refund.
