Study Says Bedtime Stories Help Parents Sleep Too

If you're a parent who reads bedtime stories to your kids to help them float off into dreamland, you may be doing the same thing for yourself. A poll by ThriftBooks finds that 63% of parents of young kids say they read bedtime stories to them about four times a week. 50% of them say they would like to read even more, but they're too tired after work. 81% of those who read bedtime stories say there's an added benefit in that it helps them fall asleep, too. It also creates a sweet bond between parent and child as 78% say they read their kids many of the same books that were read to them as kids.
