It’s time for vacation planning and there’s plenty to think about. If taking your dog on your family vacation is a must there are some destinations that love pups. So forget calling the petsitter and look into these locations:
- Bar Harbor, Maine. There’s hiking and sailing, plus pooch friendly Sea Princess Scenic Nature Cruises and Side Street Café. Motels like Belle Isle Motel and vacation homes such as the Modern House Family Retreat are happy to open their doors to your furry friend.
- Austin, Texas. Being outdoors is popular here. There’s also Austin Doga, a yoga session where you can bring your dog and practice mindfulness. Then you can head to Red Dog Isle, a dog only lake.
- Kanab, Utah. The town is known as home to the Best Friends Animal Society. They also have the Best Friends Sanctuary. It’s almost its own vacation resort, with lodging options, eateries, activities, and tours. The Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile is definitely a place to stay.
- Emerald Isle, North Carolina. You can enjoy the beach, on leash, with your pup and then take in the town. Muttigans K9s and Coffee is the spot for coffee and pet accessories, plus pup cups and more.
