This was predictable. Thanks to the popularity of the “Barbie” movie, people are thinking about naming their babies after the characters. BabyNames.com says their site has seen a 300-percent jump in searches for "Barbie" last month. "Ken" has also seen a boost, with searches increasing by 200-percent. The name Barbie peaked in popularity in 1964, while Ken peaked in 1963. On a down note, there’ve been no increase in searches for the name Allan. In case you didn’t know, Barbie means "stranger," while Ken means "handsome."
