Americans Are Consistent With Drinking Habits

Americans are consuming alcohol at a steady rate. Gallup's latest Consumption Habits poll shows that 62-percent of Americans said they had "occasion to use alcoholic beverages such as liquor, wine or beer." That's in line with the stats from the last eight decades that the company has been tracking the number. It peaked in the late 70s at 71-percent. Meanwhile, this year 38-percent said they do not drink at all and 24-percent of them saying they don't care for alcohol at all. For those who do drink, 69-percent said they drank in the past week and 32-percent in the past day.
