Have you heard of the “burnt toast theory”? The concept, which is taking off on TikTok, is pretty simple. Basically, don’t stress if something slightly derails you -- like if you burn your toast in the morning and that adds five or 10 more minutes to your morning routine. That extra time you spend to remake the toast could actually be saving you from something bad or leading you toward something good. Maybe leaving the house 10 minutes late prevents you from getting in a car accident, or maybe it leads to you meeting someone special that you wouldn’t have run into otherwise. It’s the idea that the universe has a plan for you.
