Kraft Announces Recall Of American Cheese

Kraft-Heinz has recalled 83,000 packages of Kraft American Cheese Singles.

The slices cause a potential choking hazard because one of the processing machines left the plastic wrap too thin. A customer might miss the plastic and eat it accidentally.

The company said, "If the film sticks to the slice and is not removed, it could be unpleasant and potentially cause a gagging or choking hazard."

Kraft-Heinz had several complaints, including six consumers who gagged or choked on the wrap. None of the consumers experienced a serious health issue.

The recall involves 16-ounce Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese products with a use-by date between Jan. 10, 2024, and Jan. 27, 2024, and three-pound multipacks of Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product with a use-by date between Jan. 9, 2024, and Jan. 13, 2024.
