IRS Wants A Piece Of Concert Ticket Resell $$

The IRS is coming after Swifties and the Beyhive.

The tax laws changed just in time for their monster tours. Resellers of concert tickets must pay taxes if they profited by more than $600. The government lowered the threshold this year from $20,000.

This law requires Ticketmaster and StubHub to provide to the IRS users who sold their tickets. StubHub indicates that 70% of The ERAs Tour tickets were sold by Swifties. They can expect to receive a 1099-K statement reporting the transactions. (Wall Street Journal)
