TINDER WILL LET YOUR FRIENDS & FAMILY PLAY MATCHMAKER

According to a new Tinder survey, 75% of singles talk about their dating life with friends multiple times a month. And now, the world’s most popular dating app is helping users get that feedback in an instant with a new feature, Tinder Matchmaker.

With it, friends and family - even your mom or pushy Aunt Margaret - can play cupid for you. Using Tinder Matchmaker, loved ones can suggest potential matches for you, and here’s how it works:

  • A “matchmaking session” can be started from a profile card or in the app’s settings.
  • Users will be able to share their unique matchmaking link with up to 15 people in a 24-hour period.
  • The matchmakers don’t have to be Tinder users and they’ll have 24 hours to recommend profiles for the user.
  • They’ll be able to swipe right on profiles they’d recommend and swipe left on those they don’t think are a good match.
  • After the 24 hours are up, the Tinder user will be able to see the profiles their matchmakers like for them, but they’ll still have the final word on their matches.

Fortunately, they won’t be able to chat or send messages on a user’s behalf, so your parents can’t do anything cringey you might regret. Tinder Matchmaker is available now in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Australia, Brazil and a handful of other countries and it will be rolling out around the world in the next few months.
