AAA says around 55.4 million travelers will head 50 miles or more from home over Thanksgiving. That's a 2% increase from last year.
The agency says this will be the third busiest Thanksgiving for travel since they started tracking holiday travel 23 years ago.
4.7 million Americans will fly over the holiday, while more than 49 million will drive to their destinations. The rest will travel by cruise, bus or train.
Some good news on those crowded roads? Gas currently averages $3.58 per gallon, down from $3.87 per gallon last August.
