Toast says Americans were tipping an average of 18.9% at restaurants despite tipping fatigue.
If you look at only digital and credit card tips, those in the midwest and Ohio Valley tipped well but Delaware was the most generous state, tipping just more than 21% at restaurants.
- Wyoming, Wisconsin, Michigan, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia tipped more than average, too, at 20%.
