Most people admit they want to spend less time on their phone, but it’s difficult to do. That’s because each sound your phone makes creates a spike in your dopamine level. Luckily Catherine Price, the author of “How To Break Up With Your Phone,” and Jenny Wise Black, host of the “Lose the Phone” podcast, have some advice on how to put your phone down more.
- Think about why you’re picking up the phone
- Turn on your phone’s grayscale setting
- Put your phone on silent
- Put a barrier between you and your phone
- Move your phone away from your body
- Organize your apps intentionally
- Consider removing social media apps
- Get a second “dumb” phone
