Here’s a quick way for a teacher to get sued: bring swords to class and instruct the students to fight. That actually happened at Volcano Vista High School back in 2022. Apparently, the whole thing was caught on camera during chemistry class and now the family of a student who was injured by one of the swords is suing. The female student got a major cut and had to go to the ER. It gets crazier. According to an incident report, the assistant principal claimed the teacher brought the swords to discuss the science of metal and melding but answered ‘no’ when asked if the injury violated school rules. He is also a defendant in the lawsuit.
