*LIST* The Most Popular Gas Stations Across The U.S.

Gas stations used to just be a place to refuel your car, but they’ve become so much more than pit stops. Some are even destinations themselves, where you can get anything from clothing to hot meals, and Americans can’t get enough of them. Of course, some have captured our hearts more than others and new research highlights the favorites nationwide.

  • Freebets polled 25-hundred adults about which gas station chains they like the most.
  • Places had to be both convenience stores and gas stations to be considered.
  • And it turns out, there are definitely some regional preferences.

So, what are the favorite gas stations across the country?

  • Buc-ee’s - Known for their enormous stores, super-clean restrooms and endless snack options - even BBQ sandwiches, Buc-ee’s tops the list. It started in Texas and has expanded into more states across the south, so it’s no surprise it dominates that area. Buc-ee’s is the favorite in nine states: Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina and Colorado.
  • Wawa - In the Mid-Atlantic region, they love this place. People in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania swear by Wawa’s hoagies, iced tea and Tastykakes.
  • Cumberland Farms - They’re known for high-quality coffee, great food options and competitive gas prices, as well as their customer service. It’s the winner in Northeastern states, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire and Louisiana.
  • Casey’s General Store - It’s a Midwest staple, and people go there just for their pizza. It’s the preferred gas station in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
  • Circle K - Out west, they love Circle K, making it the favorite in Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho. Oregon, Washington, California and Arkansas, too.
  • Speedway is the pick in Indiana, Michigan, New Mexico and Ohio.
  • Maverik is number one for Arizona, Utah and Wyoming, while Kwik Trip wins in Wisconsin and Nevada.
  • Several gas stations are the favorite in just one state: In Vermont, it’s Kum & Go, in West Virginia it’s Sheetz and in Alabama, it’s AMPM.
