Peak Snow Report: More Terrain Opening Up For the Weekend

Nice conditions on the mountains with snowmaking ongoing and more terrain opening up. And there is a chance for some fresh snow this weekend. Here are some highlights:  Santa Fe has opened more runs this week… Taos has opened Lift 1 with several runs under it… Sipapu starts daily operations Friday… Red River has the beginner area and the Platinum Lift with Broadway open from midway… Purgatory has opened more runs including the backside... Wolf Creek I snow 90% open… Arizona Snowbowl has opened a couple more runs.

Notes: Open with the Super Chief Quad and Sierra Double chairlifts running. Lift tickets, lesson packages, and rentals are now available for purchase online. Grab a Peak Plus Pass or One Pass and ride all winter long at a discounted daily rate. New this year is the Santa Fe Express Ticket. This allows guests to link their preferred payment directly to a reloadable ticket and bypass the ticket office all season.

New this season: Sipapu will have a new double black diamond trail called Dysfunction opening once enough snow falls, likely sometime in January. Dysfunction is the outermost run on the left side, next to Indecision. Sipapu this summer also renovated its hotel rooms and casitas, with a variety of amenities and improvements.

The Grand Canyon Express Chairlift has access to intermediate trails only including Midway Catwalk, Log Jam, Round Up, and Wild Turkey and the Little Spruce Conveyor will allow access to a limited amount of beginner terrain.
