Netflix is beginning to crackdown on password sharing in the United States.
Expect an email from Netflix alerting you to an $8 monthly surcharge for allowing an “extra member” outside your household to stream Netflix on your password. Eventually, they will start blocking unauthorized devices. (Variety)
Netflix will squeeze more profits but will predictably lose subscribers once the crackdown starts. If history is any example, Netflix may lose millions in the States. More than a million users disappeared this year in Spain because Netflix blocked devices and charged for sharing passwords. (Bloomberg)
