Zombie Deer Disease Could Infect Humans


A Disease is hitting New Mexico’s Deer and Elk population and tuning them into “Zombies”

A fatal neurological illness known as "chronic wasting disease" has infected deer and elk in 24 states, including New Mexico. 

It's been nicknamed "zombie deer disease" because of its symptoms, including drooling, lack of coordination and aggression. Infected deer are also less afraid of people.
