Now, over 20 years later, this classic big screen movie is being turned into a musical for the stage.
Forbesreported that the show's producers,Michael RoseandDavid Shor, have already obtained the rights to adapt the screenplay into a musical for which musiciansRobert ScottandBrendan Cullwill write the music.
They are still currently looking to get the show fully funded and hope to crowdsource $25,000 over the next few weeks to cover pre-production costs.
