How To Turn 15 Days Of PTO Into 52 Vacation Days In 2024

A TikToker has given us the blueprint on how to maximize your PTO in 2024

Using just 15 Days of PTO and the power of Federal holidays, he manages to stretch that into 52 days off for the year. It should be noted that you're not getting any extra time off but stacking your days off with holidays can lead to extended breaks next year for travel.

The video is posted below but here's the play by play...

-Take Tuesday, January 2nd Off (1 Day of PTO - 4 Consecutive Days Off - New Year's)
-Take Tuesday, January 16th Off (1 Day of PTO - 4 Consecutive Days Off - MLK)
-Take Friday, February 16th Off (1 Day of PTO - 4 Consecutive Days Off - President's Day)
-Take Friday, May 24th Off (1 Day of PTO - 4 Consecutive Days Off - Memorial Day)
-Take Off June 17th through 21st (5 Days of PTO - 9 Consecutive Days Off - Juneteenth)
-Take Off June 5th (1 Day of PTO - 4 Consecutive Days Off - 4th of July)
-Take Off Tuesday, September 3rd (1 Day of PTO - 4 Consecutive Days Off - Labor Day)
-Take Off Friday, November 29th (1 Day of PTO - 4 Consecutive Days Off - Thanksgiving/Black Friday)
-Take Off December 23rd-24th & 26th-27th (4 Days of PTO - 9 Consecutive Days Off - Christmas)

With existing 3 Day weekends in October / November that is over 50 consecutive days off using only 15 PTO Days...
If your company gives you Black Friday off already, I would suggest taking PTO on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving which gives you 5 consecutive days off
