Costco is trying to cut down on non-members taking advantage of their deals.
The warehouse retailer is testing a system that requires members to scan their membership cards at the store entrance.
The number of non-members in stores has ramped up since 2020 and this is expected to cut them down.
The other benefit is that you don’t have to use the membership card at checkout. It’s currently being tested in Washington State.
