Uber, Lyft And Doordash Drivers Set To Strike Tomorrow

You may not be able to use a rideshare or Doordash tomorrow afternoon. Uber, Lyft and DoorDash drivers are set to strike on Valentine's Day. Drivers' groups said yesterday they're seeking fair pay. This is the first strike call since Uber and Lyft went public in 2019. Groups said drivers are going to picket outside airports and Uber offices. The Justice For App Workers coalition, which represents about 130-thousand drivers, said drivers won't provide rides to and from airports between 11 am and 1 pm in nearly a dozen cities. According to Gridwise, which analyzes gig mobility data, last year Uber drivers' monthly average gross earnings fell 17.1-percent, while those of Lyft drivers increased 2.5-percent.
