- They compared all 50 states and Washington, D.C. on 25 key indicators of living standards for women in two major categories: Women’s Health Care & Safety and Women’s Economic & Social Well-Being.
- These include everything from median earnings to women’s preventative healthcare, job security and share of women-owned businesses.
- Massachusetts tops the list as the Best State for Women in 2024, coming in first for Women’s Health Care & Safety and seventh for Women’s Economic & Social Well-Being.
- Washington, D.C., second overall, is number one for Women’s Economic & Social Well-Being.
- Oklahoma comes in last, making it the Worst State for Women. It’s dead last for Health Care & Safety and second to last for Economic and Social Well-Being.
