Most fast-food chains have occasional limited-edition menu items that appear on menus seasonally or occasionally in addition to regular menu items.

- Taco Bell Nacho Fries – these are one of the most popular menu items in Taco Bell history and randomly show up and disappear on menus throughout the year. The recipe is simple – spiced fries served with hot nacho cheese sauce. NUTRITION (PER ORDER): 320 calories, 18 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 620 mg sodium, 35 g carbs (4 g fiber, 2 g sugar) and 4 g protein.
- Carne Asada at Chipotle – a seasonal steak dish that comes and goes on menus, it features marinated meat seasoned on the grill with cumin and oregano and finished with lime and chopped cilantro. NUTRITION: 250 calories, 14 g fat (5 g saturated fat), 740 mg sodium, 1 g carbs (0 g fiber, 0 g sugar) and 29 g protein.
- Holiday Turkey and Stuffing Sandwich at Starbucks – this sandwich usually appears around Thanksgiving time and features sliced turkey breast with herbed stuffing and turkey gravy on sage-infused bread. NUTRITION (PER SANDWICH): 540 calories, 13 g fat (4.5 g saturated fat), 1420 mg sodium, 74 g carbs (4 g fiber, 11 g sugar) and 30 g protein.
- Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s – this iconic shake usually arrives every February and stays on menus through March, including a mint flavor shake with whipped cream and red cherries. NUTRITION (PER SMALL SHAKE): 500 calories, 14 g fat (9 g saturated fat, .5 g trans fat), 230 mg sodium, 82 g carbs (0 g fiber, 51 g sugar) and 11 g protein.
- Hot Chicken Sandwich at Shake Shack – this is Shake Shack’s version of a Nashville-style chicken sandwich that usually shows up on menus in the summer. NUTRITION (PER SERVING: 570 calories, 31 g fat (9 g saturated fat), 1270 mg sodium, 39 g carbs (1 g fiber, 8 g sugar) and 34 g protein.
- Pumpkin Spice Latte at Dunkin’ – Dunkin’s version of this popular fall drink is made with espresso, milk, sweet pumpkin syrup, vanilla, spiced whipped cream, caramel drizzle and cinnamon sugar. NUTRITION (PER MEDIUM LATTE): 420 calories, 14 g fat (8 g saturated fat), 220 mg sodium, 59 g carbs (2 g fiber, 55 g sugar) and 12 g protein.
- Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Rolls at Cicis – this pizza chain introduced their pumpkin-infused cinnamon rolls in 2022 and were a big hit with flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. They may be returning in late August of this year and at this time there is no nutritional information available.
- Pumpkin Pie Blizzard at Dairy Queen – this DQ Blizzard was first released in 2022 and is made with vanilla soft-serve, real pieces of pumpkin pie, fall spices, and whipped cream. NUTRITION (PER SMALL-SIZED DESSERT: 560 calories, 20 g fat (13 g saturated fat, 1 g trans fat), 330 mg sodium, 86 g carbs (2 g fiber, 68 g sugar) and 11 g protein.
- Curderburger at Culver’s – this burger was originally released as an April Fool’s joke in 2021 but became a huge hit instead. It consists of a deluxe ButterBurger topped with a whole patty of fried cheese and has returned in the fall of 2022 and 2023 and expected this year as well. - McRib at McDonald’s – this is probably the most famous all limited-time fast-food items and you never know when it may show up on menus since McDonald’s has announced several Farewell Tours and then accompanying returns to menus. No one is really sure about the ‘mystery meat’ that it’s made with, but it remains a popular item every time it shows back up on the menu.
