Spring has arrived and that means things are starting to bloom, which can be beautiful … unless you have seasonal allergies. Then this is the season of sneezing and itching, thanks to all the pollen. Of course, some places have it worse than others and a new report reveals which ones they are.

  • The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has just come out with their yearly Allergy Capitals list.
  • It ranks the 100 most populated metro areas in the country on factors related to seasonal allergies, including tree, grass and weed pollen counts, sales of allergy and sinus medication, and the number of board-certified allergists/immunologists.
  • Based on their research, the worst city in the U.S. for seasonal allergy sufferers is Wichita, Kansas.
  • On the flip side, Akron, Ohio is the best city in the country for avoiding allergies, thanks to its lower than average pollen score.
