When you finally get to take a well-earned vacation, the last thing you want to do is waste your time on something that doesn’t excite you. Sometimes, you go all in on an activity, only to find it’s not at all interesting, but a new study can help you avoid some of those. It reveals the 100 most boring tourist attractions in the world.
- The ranking by Solitaired is based on an analysis of more than 66-million Google reviews of over 32-hundred popular tourist attractions in 384 cities in 71 countries.
- Researchers came up with a “boredom score” for each attraction, based on the use of 11 keywords describing the reviews as boring, tiresome, lifeless and uninteresting.
- The U.S. seems to be lacking excitement, as we’re home to the top seven boring attractions on the list.
- Number one is Branson Scenic Railway in Missouri, which travels through part of the Ozark Mountains on a 40-mile round trip. Reviewers say they were “unimpressed by the views” and “a little bored after a while of just seeing treetops.”
- Illuminarium Atlanta, an “immersive experience that plays 4K interactive projections with 360-degree immersive audio and in-floor vibrations,” comes in second on the list. Some visitors say it was “only cool for the first 15 minutes” and that they “left after 40 minutes despite paying $144 for four people.”
