Report: Only 1-In-4 Sunscreens Are Safe And Effective

Before you buy sunscreen, you may want to do a deep dive into the ingredients. The Environmental Working Group tested 17-hundred sunscreens and found that only 1-in-4 on the market are safe and effective. Here are the issues the watchdog found: nearly 300 contain oxybenzone, octinoxate, or both; half of the products raise serious concerns about allergies; and almost 30% list "fragrance" as an undisclosed mystery ingredient. Also, some newer sunscreen ingredients may not be FDA approved. Knowledge is power in this case.
