Cheaters are everywhere, but new research reveals America’s “hot spots for non-monogamy.” It comes from Ashley Madison, the controversial dating site for married people, and it’s based on the cities that have the most signups this year. With a slogan like “Life is short. Have an affair,” they’re clearly the experts in this area.
- The U.S. city with the most Ashley Madison signups per capita is Columbus, Ohio.
- Interestingly, Columbus wasn’t even in the top 20 of their list last year.
- Miami, number one in last year’s ranking, falls to second place this year.
“Clearly, something is going on in Ohio because, in fact, there are two other cities in the top 20 from Ohio,” says Paul Keable, Ashley Madison’s chief strategy officer. He notes that the list includes cities all across the country, from both red states and blue states. “What does that really tell you about America,” he asks. “It tells me that infidelity is ubiquitous against your income, against your industry and your location.”
