Summer Fruit Injuries Are A Thing: Summer is when, for some reason, we break out the fruit. But, while slicing up peaches, strawberries. watermelon, and more, plenty of injuries happen. Three fruits in particular cause the most injuries. Here’s how to treat the mishaps:
- Avocado-related knife injuries have become an “epidemic” in the world of hand injuries. “For minor cuts, clean the wound with soap and water, then apply an antiseptic and bandage it.” For major cuts, head to the doctor
- Watermelon wounds happen when the knife slips on the rind. Place the watermelon on a cutting board to reduce the risk of slippage. Also make sure everything is dry
- When lime juice on the skin is exposed to sunlight, people get burned. If possible, don’t juice limes and lemons into your cocktails and salads outside during the daylight hours. If citrus juice gets on your skin, wash it.
