Who’s in charge of the grill at your house? While it may have traditionally been a man’s job, today’s women are up for the task and a new survey finds that more than half (53%) think they’re the real “unsung hero” of the grill who don’t get the praise or attention they deserve for their grill skills.
The poll of 2-thousand men and women also reveals:
- A lot of folks still see grilling as a male-dominated activity, as 55% of men and 47% of women do.
- But 53% of all respondents also agree that the idea of grilling being male-dominated is outdated.
- More than three-quarters (77%) think it should be as common for women to grill as it is for men.
- This may be the year women take over, as 48% of them say this is their time to shine at the grill.
- No matter who’s doing the grilling, 74% believe it’s an art form.
- Overall, 84% say there’s nothing better than a good grilled dinner when the weather is warm.
- Burgers are the most popular “must-have” foods for the grill (72%), followed by hot dogs (60%), steak (59%), chicken breast (46%) and ribs (42%).
- The top reasons people love grilling in the summer include that grilled food is some of their favorite to eat (63%), it gives them a chance to get outside (51%), it puts them in a good mood (42%), it’s a seasonal experience (36%) and it’s easy (34%).
