If you suffer from seasonal allergies, you know how miserable they can make you. It can be so bad that 39% of people dread the spring because of their allergies, according to new research.
A survey of 2-thousand U.S. adults with allergies finds 31% of them would take a pay cut for an entire year to be allergy-free. Other favorite things people would be willing to go without for a year in order to not have allergy symptoms include cake (39%), chocolate (39%), video games (39%), coffee (38%) and social media (36%).
The poll also reveals:
- Allergy sufferers consider symptoms to be the most frustrating part of spring (54%), compared to spring cleaning (44%), mosquitoes (41%) and even filing taxes (38%).
- The average person cancels or postpones 4.5 events a season because of their seasonal allergies.
- Symptoms can even get in the way of potential romances, with 39% of sufferers going on fewer dates during allergy season.
- The most frustrating symptoms they deal with include a runny nose (27%), a sore throat (19%), rashes (19%) and fatigue (18%).
